Accidents do happen. As careful as we are sometimes the inevitability of car and or driver failure lead to accidents in our automobiles. Wiesner-Huntsville will be your direct link to your insurance company. Let us handle all the arrangements on your behalf.

Here are some important things to do in the event of an accident. These are the FIRST things to do
at the scene of the accident:

Stop! Don’t make any sudden moves. Take a long, deep breath. Don’t panic. The accident is over, it’s time to
be in control.

Inventory yourself, your passengers and any pedestrians who may have been involved. Check those who are not
responding and moving first.

Check occupants of the other vehicle. Confirm damage. This is not a time for anger and name calling. Stay calm.
Immediately apply pressure to bleeding injuries, if any. Do no move the injured unless they are in immediate danger of fire,
explosion or dangerous traffic. Don’t smoke around the accident.

Get all occupants and pedestrians to safety. Move vehicles off the road, if possible. Turn ignitions off in all vehicles.
Appoint someone to alert oncoming traffic that an accident has occurred.

Get help. If you don’t have a phone, ask bystanders or witnesses to phone for police and Martinez Wrecker 936-295-3021
and an ambulance if necessary. Police must be notified of any injury or of suspicion of same for any insurance claims.
Record the following information for an accident record:

The time and location of the accident.

The other driver’s name, address, insurance company and insurance agent’s name and telephone number.

The other automobile’s license number, year, make and model of vehicle.
-
The other vehicles vehicle’s identification number (VIN) located on the drivers side under the front windshield.
-
The visible damage sustained by the other vehicle.
-
The names, addresses and phone numbers of any injured parties.
-
Other vehicle occupants and their seating positions.
-
Any witnesses names and phone numbers.
-
Note use of seat belts in other vehicle and visible degrees of injuries apparent.
Make sure you take care of these follow up details:

Identify yourself. Show your driver’s license.

Identify others involved in the accident.
-
Make a complete record as detailed above.
-
Don’t trust your memory at a time like this.

Don’t enter into a debate at the scene of the accident. Only the police, your attorney and insurance agent
need know your opinion of what transpired.

Draw a street map to place the position of all involved vehicles. Number them to identify each vehicle. Include
time of day, surface and weather conditions and any building, street or highway names and numbers.
Know these facts:

By law, you may have your car towed to and repaired at any repair facility you choose.

Only one estimate is required to determine the amount of damage.
-
Check with your agent to determine if a rental car is available under your policy.

Make sure that the insurance company pays for all covered repairs.
